The Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus is a wireless weather station that comes equipped with an adaptable sensor suite that includes temperature sensors, humidity sensors, a rain collector, and an anemometer all rolled into a single package. The Davis VantagePro2 Plus can be personalized by with the addition of consoles and other possibilities. Comes in both wireless and cabled versions.
The Davis Vantage Pro2 is the only weather station in its class to use frequency hopping spread spectrum radio technology. Because of this, this weather station can broadcast weather information wirelessly up to 1000 feet in optimal situations.
It comes with the Vantage Pro2 receiver, hardware for mounting, and built-in sensor suite (ISS). The ISS consists of a rain collector, anemometer, humidity and temperature sensors, a sensor for solar radiation, a UV sensor, and a solar panel. A radiation shield encloses the sensors for temperature and humidy.
The internal sensor suite is solar powered and all electronic components are located in a weather-proof housing. You can power the console using C batteries or with the included AC-power.
While the wireless range is advertised for up to 1000 feet, keep in mind that this is only obtainable if there are no walls or other obstacles. Your typical range through normal circumstances is around 300-400 feet.
