Product Description

Monitor a wide range of weather information with ease. This La Crosse Technology weather station receives accurate temperature and humidity data from the included wireless, remote, and easy to setup sensor. The sensor transmits via a 915 MHz transmission with a wireless range up to 330 feet. The included wind gauge also has a 330-foot range and monitors gusts, wind direction, wind chill, and speed. A rain gauge collects data for optimal gardening and more. The main console displays indoor temperature and outside humidity with weather alarms and storm warnings. In addition, 3 forecast icons with tendency arrows let you know where the weather is headed. The unit also displays barometric pressure with 12-hour history graph along with 140 sets of weather history that let you know how the garden is faring and more!

The unit also displays either 12- or 24-hour time and its crescendo alarm eases you into the day. A wireless self-emptying rain bucket gives you plenty of rainfall data without a run out to empty the gauge. The station also records dew point with minimum and maximum displays with time and date records. Other nice features include an EL backlight, calendar with week, date, month and year. The receiver measures 7 by 4.6 by .94 inches and mounts quickly to the wall or sets up on the desktop with the included stand. The thermo-hygro gauge measures 6.18 by 2.44 by 2.25 inches. The rain sensor measures 5.51 by 2.75 by 5.39 inches. The wind sensor measures 9.84 by 6.45 by 7.58 inches.

I have a combo pack ws-2308 & ws-2310 xmas gift 2009. Right out the box problems with hydro sensor. called service they wanted whole product back people got nasty. I finally got someone to listen to me and they sent me a new part and that fixed the temp. problem. More recently the wind speed was beyond acceptance and I had put up with it for too long. We had a bad front coming and wind was blowing up to 45 mph almost constant so I monitored it for 12 hours the highest registured wind within 12 hrs was 10.5 mph. I called them and advised of this I also asked if they would put the cup type sensor in it's place. The lady i talked to said she would tell service/warranty what i was asking and they would call me. They did not call but sent a e-mail asking stupid things like asking if i had replaced batteries etc.(run around)by the way my wind sensor is the mickey mouse fan blade type that will freeze up when water gets on it. Anway I e-mailed back told them to call me like they were supposed to. They did saying warranty would only replace a defective part with same type part.I told them this is supposed to be a proffesional unit and it will not work as advertised so I told them I would write this review!! RUN from LA CROSSE The people and product are no good.

I went to an outdoor goods store looking for a rain gauge and saw this product (WS1510IT) in a closeout and thought it was cool, which it would be if it worked right. I did discover that the batteries must be VERY fresh when first installed. They will then continue working until they get down to about 1.1 volts -- about a year and a half on average (I've had this about 5 years). The wind, temp, humidity and barometer have worked admirably as long as the batteries were good.

BUT -- I bought it for the rain gauge. That has never worked. LaCrosse (after I went through their customer avoidance routine and sent them the old unit at my expense) did give me a replacement sending unit. It never worked either. I broke the arms on the anemometer when I moved the mast, so while I was replacing that, I bought a new sender for the rain gauge. Surprise! That never worked either.

Well, you know what? The old low tech sight glass works just fine. And the other stuff works fine for the price I paid.

This unit is quite easy to install. Took less than and hour. Read out accuracy seems very good with easy to read digital display.
Would most certainly by another La Crosse product.

Will not buy again. The first time I replaced the batteries the unit stopped working. Lacross replaced the unit under warranty. I had to change batteries on the new unit and now the inside and out temperature does not work. Save your money, time and frustration and buy another brand.

I received this unit for a Christmas gift and initially loved it. Followed the instructions for mounting to the letter and it worked fine; for about a month.

La Crosse Technology The Weather Channel WS-1510TWC Professional Weather Center

It started dropping signal repeatedly and even with a battery replacement and new setup, it still does not work right. Sometimes it all goes blank, sometimes just parts of the readout go blank. Based on the very poor reviews here of the La Crosse customer service ("this is Peggy"), I went back to the retailer, The WeatherShack, to see if they would help me out. They were very understanding of being over their normal 30 day return period and agreed to take the unit back for refund. I can highly recommend them but this unit did not work for me at all.

Do not buy.

I am going to try out the Ambient model. People seem to like them for an entry level weather station. Unfortunately, Weathershack does not carry that line.

Bought item in November, but gave it for a Christmas Present in December.Started Unit up per instructions, but the unit could not lock in the signal from the Thermal unit to record temperature or wind speed. The Rainfall gauge worked fine. All this was setup on a table just as instructions recommended. I tried to restart several times but did same thing. Sent three emails to customer support at Lacrosse and called twice and left message since December 28. Never recieved a response or a call since then. Since the product was over the 30 day return policy of amazon I could not return it. I would not recommend this product or any other from Lacrosse just because of the poor customer service.

Purchased the LaCrosse Weather Center three weeks ago and all outside functions stopped working two weeks ago. At that time I started an online support request on the LaCrosse web site. After no response, I called their toll number today and was told a technician would call back within 24-48 hours. Maybe they will.

I've gone through the troubleshooting protocols on their website...new fresh batteries, remove all batteries for 30 minutes, push all buttons 20 times with no batteries installed over and over again repeatedly. Wish I would have read the bad reviews prior to purchasing this unit. Lots of people have had similar experiences with malfunctions and poor support.

Anything mechanical and electrical can fail and I take that into consideration when I read one or two bad reviews for an item. But this unit is BAD, BAD, BAD. Lot's of people have had that experience and I concur!
